The Lentil Intervention

TLI Plogging Day

Athletes for Nature, a campaign run by The Lentil Intervention, is a tribal movement of outdoor enthusiasts that not only appreciate the importance of nature but also take action to protect it.

The goal is to get more people immersing themselves in nature through movement, whether it be walking, running or any other activity, enjoy the physical and mental health benefits, and engage in kaitiakitanga - environmental stewardship.

On Sunday 31 October, no matter where in the world you are, we are going plogging - the word comes from the Swedish words picking up rubbish and jogging mixed into one: plocka (pick up) + jogga (jog) = plogga.

What you can do:
1. Select your favourite route - along a beach, on a trail or around your neighbourhood.
2. Go for a walk or run.
3. Pick up rubbish along the way.
4. Do it on your own or share the fun with your bubble (remember to socially distance and adhere to all Covid-19 requirements)
5. Take a photo of your haul, post it to Instagram/Facebook and tag us, or email it to us, so we can share it and grow our movement.
6. Get outdoors, get moving and do good for the planet.

Head over to our website for more information on the Athletes for Nature campaign and its overall mission, plus details on how you can join the tribe.

NOTE: You must adhere to Covid-19 alert level restrictions at all times when participating in this event.
