Holding Space Aotearoa | Aaiotanga

Songwriters 4 Climate Action workshop #10 with Aaiotanga

Songwriters 4 Climate Action is a project intended to bring together community-based performers through a series of workshops and activities; to help support and inspire them to develop songs / art that highlight the challenges and hopes for climate action.

Our aim is to work towards live performances and record songs / creative content (to a professional standard) that we can share on multiple platforms to help spread awareness and positivity around this kaupapa. Through this process we hope to build a supportive arts community and learn a thing or two along the way.

On the 18th October, Holding Space will host practitioners from Aaiotanga Community Space to:

  • Talk about regenerative practices, including 'What is regeneration' with special guest speaker Ecologist: Chris Ferkins
  • Have an open discussion around 'how music and art can make a difference’
  • Talk about some local artwork by Chris Dews and 'What is our vision of a thriving regenerative Tāmaki Makaurau?’

A preview of some songs by the Songwriters4ClimateAction group will be shared throughout the workshop.
