Mott MacDonald in collaboration with Auckland Council invites you to join them for an online seminar on calculating carbon in infrastructure projects, carbon sequestration approaches and leveraging sustainable procurement practices.
Three speakers will present short 15-20 min presentations on the work in the following fields:
- An innovative carbon dashboard tool for infrastructure projects which has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Bloomberg Philanthropies 2021 Global Mayors Challenge. This dashboard, once completed, will enable infrastructure providers to quickly understand the carbon footprint of projects and will lead to better design decisions being made.
- Carbon removal approaches (sequestration) in the Auckland region. This talk will focus on the ability of coastal wetlands to sequester and store carbon in their soils and will explore the fundamental questions we need to answer in order to utilise these ecosystems in carbon reduction, climate resilience and biodiversity schemes.
- How Auckland Council are tackling environmental issues in the value chain to leverage sustainable procurement practices. Advice will be shared to better prepare suppliers and markets for a low-carbon economy.
There will be an opportunity for Q&A at the end of the presentation.
The speakers are:
