Auckland Climate Festival official launch event

We'd love you to join us for the official Auckland Climate Festival 2021 launch to be held online on Tuesday 12 October 2021, 6:30pm-7:30pm.

Celebrate as we open Auckland Climate Festival by switching on the Vector Lights on Auckland's Harbour Bridge in the festival colours.

The bridge will be lit up in the four colours of the ACF brand that represent earth, sea, sky and all living beings. These come together to acknowledge that the health of Papatūānuku underpins the wellbeing of our communities.

We're honoured to have Ngāti Whātua Ōrakei open the festival with a blessing. You'll hear from festival founder, Michelle Kennedy, on ACF; learn about the festival themes through our digital storyspace; as well as hear from passionate leaders shaping climate action across Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa and abroad.

We are honoured and proud to have this amazing speaker line-up:

  • Kingi Makoare, Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei
  • Michelle Kennedy, Founder of Auckland Climate Festival
  • Hon. James Shaw, Minister for Climate Change
  • Nick Mabey, London Sustainable Development Commissioner & Founder of London Climate Action Week
  • Ben Morley-John, Smash Delta
  • Chlöe Swarbrick, MP for Auckland Central
  • Rebekah Tregonning, UN Youth
  • Minh Anh Trần, Green Jam and Western Springs College
  • Simon Mackenzie, Group Chief Executive, Vector
  • Mayor of Auckland, Phil Goff

Note: we do not encourage active viewing of the Bridge. Please make sure you adhere to Covid-19 guidelines at all times.
